Abstract


This clinical study is based on 12 patients with postoperative maxillary cysts who were managed at Department of Oral & Maxillofacial surgery, Kyung Hee University for last 6 years.
The patients were analysed with the items such as age, sex, location, chief complaints, radiographic findings and treatment methods.
@ES The results obtained were as follows:
@EN 1. The ratio of men to women was 58.3% to 41.7%, and the most common age groups were 30 years (50.0%).
2. The most common age groups of patients at surgery for maxillary sinus were 10 years group (50.0%).
3. The largest group (58.3%)of the cases were developed after sinus operations about 10~19 years ago.
4. The cysts were more developed on left (58.3%) than right (41.7%).
5. The most common chief complaints of the patients were pain (58.3%) and swelling (33.3%).
6. In radiograms, 7 cases were well demarcated (58.3%) and 2 cases reveal bony destruction of lateral wall of the maxillary sinus.
7. In all cases, we used Caldwell Luc operation for postoperative maxillary cyst.
